| POLYESTER FILTER MATTING: This is the same filter matting used in our skimmers and waterfall filters. It is dense enough to provide effective mechanical filtration of floating solids, but not so dense as to restrict water flow. It makes an ideal pre-filter for biological filter media such as our ceramic rock, and can be used to replace deteriorated foam pads. We offer a green version in 24", 36", or 72" widths, and a white verson in 56" widths. The 24" wide green matting is available cut in two-foot increments, and the 36" wide green matting is available cut in three-foot increments. Full rolls of other types of filter matting are available on request.

| CERAMIC FILTER ROCK: Ceramic filter rock is a lightweight, durable, porous ceramic media that is ideal for biological filtration. It has many times the surface area of an equivalent volume of gravel or plastic media and is much more resistant to clogging than lava rock. We recommend using it to fill the nylon bags furnished with our waterfall filters (the bags are also sold separately), for enhancing the performance of bog filters, and for replacing the inferior plastic media supplied with many inexpensive pond filters. Ceramic rock is normally packaged in 25 pound bags, and it takes two bags to make one cubic foot. We also offer it in 8 pound bags for use in filling our cylindrical pre-filters.
