ARTESIAN EXTERNAL PUMPS: Unlike similar-looking pumps designed for high-pressure swimming pool filtration systems, these heavy-duty pumps have been optimized for lower-pressure aquatic gardening applications. With energy-efficient industrial-duty motors and carefully matched impellers, they can save hundreds of dollars per year when compared with conventional pumps with similar flow rates They are also much quieter. We offer four low-head models with peak flow rates of 3530, 4900, 5650, and 7560 GPH (Artesian A-1/8, A-1/4, A-1/3, and A-1/2) and four medium-head models with peak flow rates of 6510, 7440, 8710, and 10260 GPH (Artesian A-3/4, A-1, A-1.5, and A-2MH).

All Artesian pumps are self-priming, so only minimal plumbing experience is required for installation and there is little chance the pumps will run dry and overheat. Other features include 2" inlet and outlet ports, large built-in strainer baskets, and three-year warranties. We pre-wire the low-head pumps with an 8-foot, 115 volt power cord to facilitate installation without an electrician.

LEADER EXTERNAL PUMP: Our smallest external pump, the Leader Ecopool pump (EP6) is a remarkable value. It pumps 1500 GPH using 260 watts and features a totally enclosed capacitor motor with a built-in switch. We recommend the optional strainer basket that screws directly into the pump housing to catch debris that could clog the pump. This pump is recommended for use only where water flows to the pump by gravity, such as through a fitting in the side or bottom of the pond.
