CARBON FILTERS
For reliable and inexpensive filtration in a compact package, these filters are hard to beat. They are made of sturdy molded plastic sections fastened together with stainless-steel drum clamps with O-ring seals. Water enters through a hose fitting in the top section and flows through a perforated diffuser plate, through a bag of activated carbon and zeolite, through a bottom diffuser plate, and out through a fitting in the bottom section.

Since the filter is sealed and pressurized, it can be installed anywhere between the pump and the discharge point, either submerged under water or hidden outside the pond. When used with an effective pre-filtering system, cleaning is required only once or twice each month and the element will last a full gardening season.

We offer two sizes: a small filter for ponds up to 1000 gallons (10" x 10" x 8" high), and a large filter for ponds up to 3000 gallons 10" x 10" x 20" high). Both require a flow rate of 1200 GPH for optimal performance. If the fish population will be large or if the pond receives sun all day long, we recommend a modified version of these filters with a built-in UV sterilizer. However, the UV version in not submersible.
